We recently got in touch with a good friend and photographer of ours, Shota Mori (based out of Japan) where we exchanged some messages about a couple of dope Civics that we’ve seen around the net. Just a couple days later, Shota met up with the owners and was able to snap some awesome pictures for us. We can’t thank him enough for that, as well as the owners of these cars. Since there are three different Civics, tonight we’ll only focus on that gray ’90 Civic Shuttle 55X that you see in front of you.

Due to the language barrier, we weren’t able to get as much information out of the owners and their cars as we usually do, so we’ll work with what we have. Our photographer Shota tells us that people like to refer to the style of these cars as “Kyusya”, which literally means “Classic/Older Cars”..but as always, when translating certain words the real meaning tends to get lost in the translation. The car is sitting on a genuine set of the older SSR Mesh wheels, in rather smaller size of 14×7.5 & 14×8.

How can you have such a flush fitment with 7.5 & 8 width wheels? Spacers. The owner added 10mm spacers up front and a set of 20mm’s in the rear, and wrapped the wheels in 155/55/14 tires! Now, we dunno how you feel about that, but that’s a damn legit stretch if you ask us!

Now, it’s important you know that the car is sitting on bags, but what is even more important are the following pictures. The owner of this Wagon isn’t one of those “park hard” but “roll soft” dudes. Everyone out there that’s sitting on bags should seriously take notes and reconsider if they truly “roll hard”. Don’t get us wrong, we’re not sitting here encouraging you to drag frame on your way to work tomorrow, but please don’t ride with a wheel gap unless you really have to. Check out this video clip.

The exterior is rather simple and stock. Other than the tinted tails and the EF Sedan front lip, owner seems to not worry about anything else and we respect that. It’s really a shame that we don’t have as many legit Civics here in the states as they do out in Japan. Up until I saw these rides, I was really never a huge fan of the older Hondas. This however changed my mind and I am now THAT close from picking one up just to dump the hell out of it!

We’re going to wrap the Part.1 of this feature, so be on the lookout for Part.2 very soon! We can’t thanks the owners as well as Shota enough. You guys are awesome, and we appreciate the time and effort you all put in to make this shoot possible! 日本よ永遠に!

Coming up next!
