Wow, it has certainly been a while since we had a VW MK4 up on our site. For some reason we just don’t get as many emails from the Euro crowd as we do from imports. Just a couple weeks ago however we received an email from one of our forum members (Cuong Phan) about this sick GTI that he recently shot. It belongs to a fella by the name of Corey Shepherd and while it may not be the lowest, or even run the widest set of wheels, there is no denying that it looks absolutely stunning. While it’s nice to see people push the envelopes and do things that not many people have done before, choosing a more simpler route will never go out of style. After all, that’s what makes up majority of this scene we’re all so deeply in love with. Without further ado, let’s take a closer look at this beauty!

When Corey bought his GTI in February of 2011 it was already rocking a few mods such as H&R coils and stock BBS RC’s. He wanted more out of it and wanted to build a vehicle that was less flashy but let the fitment and wheels grab your attention. He first started off with ordering and installing the air ride (courtesy of Bagriders) and running Airlifts xl’s with v1 digital management. In doing so, he notched out the frame to allow the car to lay frame every time he flips those switches. Which leads us to the following conclusion; euros & air are just so right together!

Also last year, he added an intake from black forest industries, giac chip, turbo inlet, b&M short shifter, Miltek exhaust, and blow off valve. You know, it never hurts to have a few more ponies under the hood even if you really don’t use them that often! With that said, one of the things that makes this particular MK4 stand out from others is the wheel choice. Just recently he acquired a set of Work VS-XX painted white with polished lips and damn do they look great!

Front wheels are 18×8 with an offset of +17 while the rears are 18×9.5 with an offset of 38. Sure, he had to do some work in order to get them in proper shape sch as tearing the faces off, paining the barrels black and cleaning up both the bolts and lips up as well, but it all so worth it. The finished look is simply breathtaking, especially when aired out.

Exterior is relatively simple, with only OEM 20th Anniversary lip kit all around. Who said you needed anything else to have a stunning MK4? Big ups to Corey for creating such a wonderful ride.

With that said, what does the future hold you ask? Corey tells us that he plans on doing a KO4 setup in the near future (power!), front and rear euro bumpers, shave and tuck of engine bay and possibly even a paint change down the road.

If you think your car has what it takes to be on our site make sure you email us at snfeatures@gmail.com.
