Growing up in Europe in the late 80’s and early 90’s this was the car I first fell in love with. Right before leaving Europe in the mid 90’s I saw that some people were starting to get in on the fitment game with these cars. It wasn’t as extreme as some people do it now a days, but the stretch was there, the slight poke and definitely no wheel gap. I’ll probably offend some people with the following but if you have any common sense in you you’ll agree with me that VW’s were one of the aggressive fitment movers, if not THE cars that started it all, so let’s please not forget that and give credit to those who deserve it.

I’m sure some of you will argue that early Nissan’s and Toyota’s started it all, and maybe they did. I honestly don’t think you can narrow it down to one name, I’m just glad that it happened. Decades and decades from now the next generation will be writing about the same stuff as I am right now, and I still don’t think that it’ll be narrowed down to only one name. With that said, big props to everyone in this stance scene, I hope it continues to grow as it has been in the recent years and more!
