As promised, here are the photos from the recent Showa no Car Nibaru [昭和のCarにばる]. The “showa” part of the name is basically the time period of 1926-1989 which were under the emperor Hirohito. Irrelevant in some ways but those were some of the finest years for Japanese automotive industry. All the classics we’ve grown to love such as Hakosukas and countless other Datsun’s/Nissans, Toyotas, etc. were built during this time. That is exactly what this event was about. It was held on September 8th in the Hiroshima prefecture and some 100+ cars came out. We’re not too familiar with this event but it seems that this was organized by a smaller group of guys. We will definitely be on the lookout for some info but here is a couple websites you can visit to learn more if you speak Japanese. Here and here.
