Its not all that often that you see modded Mini Cooper’s, and even less involved in the “Stance” world. This Mini is doing its part to change the game for the Cooper scene. The owner of the car, Chase, is no beginner to being low. Coming from a super slammed VW GTI, he knew right away what he was going to do with this car. He bought this Mini back in the early part of 2010 completely bone stock. As you can see, its no longer the ordinary Mini that most of us are used to.
Within 6 hours of owning the car, the modding had started. A 15% Alta supercharger pulley, Alta rear sway bar, MSD ignition, and Alta intake were first up on the list to give the Cooper some kick. Next up were a set of Vmaxx coilovers because of the amount of low they could deliver. Unfortunately, the out-of-the-box Vmaxx coils were not enough so they were modified to produce the drop currently being run.
Talking with Chase, I discovered that wheels were tough to find since he was used to looking at 5 lug models and most of the 4 lug were a different style than what he wanted. Cruising some forums one day he found a good deal on some 3 piece Schmidt Modernlines (16/6.5 et 25) wrapped in some 195/45/16 Yokahama S Drives. They were a lot smaller than what he was looking for, but he knew that with them being 3pc he could build them to exactly how he wanted.
This Mini definitely means serious business. I’m really glad I got the opportunity to shoot this car, it has definitely changed the way I look at a Mini! The car has seen a few other minor changes, but will probably be kept rather mild since it is daily driven 130 + miles a day. For more pictures, please check out my Flickr Set.
